Adventurous ski holiday at Plan de Corones

The centre of the winter activities in this part of the Pusteria valley is the ski arena of Plan de Corones, over Brunico, only eight kilometres far away from the Grünbacherhof farm.  In the cold season the 105 kilometres downhill tracks attract all winter alpine sport fans. In this wide arena you can find ski runs at all levels of difficulty. The waiting time for the lifts is very short and the 360° round view from the high plateau is amazing. Six downhill tracks till the bottom of the valley with a length up to 6,5 km will grant fun and variety to your ski holiday at Plan de Corones. Thanks to the efficient snow cannons the tracks are open till spring. At the Kinderpark Korerlift in Riscone the young guests can learn ski and in the children castle “Cronicastle” they have at their disposal a 400m² playground.

A lot of luge runs will grant you during your winter holiday in Pusteria valley a lot of fun and action, far away from the ski runs. In the municipality of Chienes there is a wonderful luge run to Moarhofalm and in the near located Terento there is a further one to Pertingeralm.  In S. Vigilio there are the longest runs of the region. The luge runs of Sennes and Fanes have both a length of 3 km. Twice a week in Chienes there are guided walks with winter shoes in the alpine surroundings. Every year this winter free time activity catches up new followers. Near this town there are around 20 km best prepared runs. Who wants to go higher can choose the “Rodenecker Alm” at an altitude of 1.900 metres a.s.l. In the cold winters the lake of Issengo freezes regularly and on the ice surface people go ice-skating.
